Live from Vienna: Julia, Brandon and Shane Podcast the R20 Austrian World Summit
The Political Climate podcast team attended the Austrian World Summit and heard firsthand from global leaders, like UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and climate activist Greta Thunberg. It underscored the fact that despite the U.S. pulling out of the Paris Climate Agreement, other countries and subnational governments continue to step up in the face of mounting carbon emissions and the growing impacts of climate change.
Shane Skelton, co-host of Political Climate and partner at S2CPacific said, "Attending the Austrian World Summit with Governor Schwarzenegger was an incredible and eye opening experience. It was refreshing to see so many people from different parts of the world come together and discuss how to address this critically important issue without all the political posturing that usually accompanies any climate-related discussions in Washington D.C."
Brandon Hurlbut, co-host of Political Climate and partner at Boundary Stone Partners said, "I was particularly struck by my time with the 16-year old climate activist Greta Thunberg. She is speaking truth to power and inspired me to work even harder on this immense global challenge."
Julia Pyper, host of Political Climate and contributing editor at GreenTech Media said, “Stories have the power to create empathy and inspire action, even on traditionally complex and hard-to-grasp issues like climate change. By sharing their experiences, speakers at the Pollution Roundtable did just that and we look forward to sharing several of their stories on an upcoming episode of Political Climate.”
Latest episodes include their interviews with Governor Schwarzenegger, Greta Thunberg and UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres. Listen and subscribe to Political Climate on Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify or any of these platforms!
